Product Explanation

NAVTEX (Navigational Telex) is a world wide coastal telex broadcasting system. The Broadcast stations transmit Navigational Warnings, Meteor ol ogical Warnings, Search and Rescue (SAR) information and other types of information. The NR-50 receives NAVTEX messages and displays them together with station ID. Every incoming message can be read on the LCD display : No paper is required. Also, the NR-50 supports reception of all three IMO NAVTEX frequencies and simultaneous dual channel monitoring of two channels. The 518kHz English language service is always in view and either 490kHz national language or 4209.5kHz long range services can be selected.
