The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) held information sessions on KITA’s global e-marketplace, ‘tradeKorea’ and Korea’s national e-trade system, ‘uTradeHub’ with inviting embassy officers of 21 countries on 27th June and 2nd July.

Especially, KITA, helping Korean SMEs find new trading partners through online, presented its brand-new e-marketplace, tradeKorea and asked commercial officers’ support to build the Global Trade Network, which aims at developing foreign company database on tradeKorea.

Twenty four officers and commercial attaches from 21 countries including Italy, the Netherland, Finland, India, etc showed their interests in tradeKorea and agreed to cooperate with building the Global Trade Network. Moreover, at the Q&A session, commercial attaches suggested good ideas on adding and improving menus, foreign company registration, 1:1 business matching and credit rating service, etc.

tradeKorea provides an abundance of information on Korean companies and their products. KITA has built a database that stores a wide range of detailed, accurate and reliable information on Korean companies and their products, including its 65,000 members. In addition to the normal functions of e-marketplaces, such as registering buying leads, sending inquiries, and sending offers. tradeKorea provides a range of additional services through its user-friendly web 2.0 platform, such as video consulting and real time communications, a 1:1 business matching service, systematic site operation and customer service through its service center. It operates a real time monitoring system to detect hitches and analyze data, and also operate a call center to provide one on- one customer service.

uTradeHub is e-trade service designed from 2003 year between the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and KITA. It is a new procedure for trading companies to conduct their business such as L/C conditions, foreign exchange, customs clearance, logistics, payment settlements through online. The uTradeHub is a smart service network based on business process management (BMP) that automatically generates and process relevant tasks for export, import and local affairs in accordance with the trade procedure.
