Certified Trading Company
(CTC) in Busan
As the designation of General Trading Corporations under the Foreign Trade Act was officially repealed on October 23, 2009, the Certified Trading Company model was launched as a new measure for promoting exports. This model has also been legally recognized as part of the amendment of the Foreign Trade Act in 2014. Designated CTCs, which must have outstanding know-how in exports, are currently being managed by MOTIE(Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy), KITA(Korea International Trade Association), SMBA(Small and Medium Business Administration), KOTRA(Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), and KSURE(Korea Trade Insurance Corporation). These organizations collectively help support promising SMEs(small and medium enterprises) in expanding exports.
