Product Information

The premium Makkoli made of the 1st class Bokbunja and rice

‘Nature-inspired Bokbunja Makkoli’ is premium Makkoli made in cooperation with a Bokbunja (Raspberry) production farm in Simwon-myeon, Gochang, Jeonbuk. Gochang is known to be an area with the heaven-blessed natural resources like pine pollen powder, yellow earth, and sea wind for the cultivation of excellent Bokbunja.

Having the excellent rice and strictly selected 1st class Bukbunja from Simwon-myeon, Gochang as the major ingredients, it is brewed through ‘rice fermentation method’ that is the patented technology of Kooksoondang. It is a product that definitely presents the unique tenderness of Makkoli as well as the sweet and sour taste of Bokbunja.

‘Nature-inspired Bokbunja Makkoli’ contains 20% of the 1st class Bokbunja produced in Gochang. It is brewed with the clean water and rice, which is powdered without any heat introduction, from Gochang throughout the brewing process. Unlike the Bokbunja Makkoli that uses small amount of raspberry with prepared hard-boiled rice, it minimizes destruction of nutrients that is generated in rice processing. Also, it is characterized by the unique taste and flavor of Bokbunja.

Company introduction

KOOK SOON DANG Brewery(KSDB) was established in 1952.
As a major producer of Korean wine and health-related products, we're been making an effort in research and development to refurbish Korean traditional brewing formula.

In 1992, as a result of a continuous effort in R&D, KSDB introduced its major product, BEK SE JU. Excellent taste and health benefit of BEK SE JU soon captured heart and pallet of Korean people and in 1998, BEK SE JU sold over 1billion bottles. Since then, it's taken up around 70% of market share in Korean rice wine market.

To supply expanding demand on BEK SE JU, we opened new factory in Hoengseong, Kangwon province in 2004. Our Hoengseong factory has 600,000 bottles of daily production capacity and famous for its environmental friendly facilities.
We believe that good wine creates a positive drinking culture. As a representative Korean wine producer, we promise to do our part in promoting Korean culture to the rest of the world.
