The MOD-2 system is a compact modular device with a minimum of two isolation elements offering isolation against all six translational and rotational vibration modes. Four piezo-electric detectors per element sense the vibration profile. Electrodynamic transducers produce the counter-force. The modules may also be used in a stacked mode to further enhance the isolation. Once installed and connected, the MOD-2 needs no further attention during the measurement. Additionally, a multiplexed output is provided to monitor the sensor signals and the effect of the active damping on an oscilloscope.

Its high load capacity and extended range of tabletop sizes offer excellent performance in the field of microscopy, interferometry, optical set-ups and other high-demanding applications.

MOD-2 systems are used in research as well as industrial establishments. They are ideal for supporting high-resolution instruments like delicate Fabry-Perot interferometers and tunnel microscopes. Industrial applications include vibration isolation of CD/DVD mastering systems for optical data storage industries as well as wafer inspection devices for the semiconductor business.
