* What is Ultrabone ?

* Piezo Electric Effect* 

-  The word piezoelectricity means electricity resulting from pressure.

-  Piezoelectric effect is to make electric polarization in certain direction when the pressure    is applied in certain direction to solid materials such as bone, ceramic, crystals....

- When the pressure is applied, electric charge ( +, -) transfer  because the balance of  +,      -  is broken.  By this transfer , Electricity flows.

- This electric polarization (electric charge transfer) was found out by Marie Curie at   France, 1880 and called as Piezoelectric effect.

 * Piezoelectric Elements

Generator Action :

If Mechanical change (shock) is applied to Piezoelectric elements,  electricity is generated (ex, disposable gas lighter,  Gas range, gas stove)

Motor Action :

If electricity is applied to Piezoelectric elements, mechanical           change (vibration) is taken place (ex, Ultrasonic scaler,  Ultrasound surgery system, Ultrasonic motor)

* Ultrabone Operation Theory

- AC  Resonance frequency (20~30 khz) is supplied to handpiece 
      which have Piezoelectric elements.

- Piezoelectric elements repeat shrinking-swelling in length direction.
