The acai berry is the fruit of a palm tree wildly grown in the northern area of Amazon, Brazil. Known as “Tree Fruit of Life,” the acai berry has been used as cure-all for the indigenous people of Amazon. Artificial cultivation of the acai palm is currently unavailable and it is only found in tropical forest in Amazon, Brazil. As the indigenous people of Amazon collect the fruits themselves, yield is small, which results in distribution of acai berry at high price.

The acai berry contains anthocyanin and polyphenol, which promote the strongest anti-oxidative activity (by restraining free radical) among various antioxidants. The acai berry, also called ‘Super Food,’ contains 8 times more anthocyanin than blueberry, the world’s top-10 food selected by the Time magazine in US, as well as iron, omega 3, 6, 9, vitamin A, C, D and K.
