Product Description
Introduction
Radiant Panel Flame Spread Tester is a device to measure the surface flammability of Building product (ASTM E 162) and cellular plastics (ASTM D 3675) using gas-fired Radiant heat panel.
It measures flame propagation, critical heat flux (CHF) and heat release rate (kW / m2).
▣ ISO 9239-1 : Reaction to Fire Tests for Floorings - Part 1 :
Determination of the Burning Behavior Using a Radiant Heat Source
▣ ISO 9239-2 : Reaction to Fire Tests for Floorings - Part 2 : Determination of Flame Spread at a Heat Flux Level of 25kW/m2
▣ ASTM E 648 : Standard Test Method for Critical Radiant Flux of Floor-Covering Systems Using a Radiant Heat Energy Source
▣ ASTM E 970 : Standard Test Method for Critical Radiant Flux of Exposed at Attic Floor Insulation Using a Radiant Heat Energy Source
▣ NFPA 253 : Standard Method of Test for Critical Radiant Flux of Vol.6)
Floor Covering Systems Using a Radiant Heat Energy Source (National Fire Codes,
▣ KS F ISO 9239-1 : Reaction to Fire Tests for Floorings - Part 1 : Determination of the Burning Behavior Using a Radiant Heat Source
▣ The radiating panel consists of a porous refractory material vertically attached to a cast iron frame with exposed radiating surfaces of 305 (W) x 457 (H) mm and is designed to operate at 815 ° C.
▣ Air is supplied to the Radiant Panel by using blower with filter.
▣ Auto ignition is possible by Pilot Burner.
▣ Calibration Burner is placed uniformly at 16mm intervals with 1.8mm holes along the center line.
▣ Exhaust device, that has 0.5 m / s air speed of air stack, is attached .
▣ In order to control the surface heat of the radiation panel, a radiation pyrometer with an accuracy within ± 5℃ was used, which is suitable for observing an area of 250mm in diameter at a distance of about 1.4m and a range of 180 ℃ ~ 230 ℃ (black body temperature)
▣ Thermocouple for measuring stack temperature is equipped.
▣ Medtherm’s Heat Flux Meter is used to measure Radiant Panel radiant heat (0 ~ 100kW / m2).
▣ It is programmed for easy automatic control and measurement using DAQ System.
▣ Exposure time and whether the specimen
was completely destroyed or was expose for 15min.
▣ Average radiant panel index (Is) for each set of specimens, rounded to the nearest multiple of five.
▣ The simple ratio of a temperature rise of 100℃ to the heat input in kilowatts producing it. (Beta)
▣ Flame spread factor (Fs)
▣ Heat evolution factor (Q)
▣ Visual burning characteristics of Specimens
