태양수출영농조합은 2004년 법인 설립시부터 제주 월동채소인 양배추를 전문적으로 수출을 할 목적으로 설립하여 노지재배 양배추인 경우 중국산과의 가격경쟁을 하지 않고 기본방침을 안전한 농산물, 안정된 품질, 안정적인 공급체계(3安)으로 설정하여 경쟁력을 키워 옴.
이를 위해 사전계약재배를 실시하고 철저한 재배이력관리로 월동채소의 안정적인 소득을 농가에게 부여하고 있으며 한국산 양배추를 일본 대형거래처에 12년간 지속적인 수출을 이행하고 있고 2015년부터 대만에도 사전계약재배를 실시하고 있음.
이러한 재배이력관리의 축적된 노하우로 2015년에 제주에서 최초로 GAP인증시설을 신축하고 GAP농산물을 생산하고 있으며 계약재배를 이행한 경험으로 국내 이마트와의 안정된 공급을 위하여 최선의 노력을 하고 있음.
계약농가 25여농가를 중심으로 양배추7만여평, 방울양배추 1만여평, 쪽파5천여평등을 매년 계약재배 하고 있으며 특수채소(케일넷,펜넬등)을 시험재배를 지속적으로 실시하고 있음
