The Optical Q™ Ferritin diagnostic test is a proprietary point-of-care (POCT) fluorescence immunoassay (FIA) designed for prompt and accurate in-vitro quantitative measurement of Ferritin.
Ferritin is an intracellular blood protein that stores, controls, and releases iron, a chemical element that is essential in making healthy red blood cells. Ferritin makes iron available for critical cellular processes while protecting lipids, DNA, and proteins from the potentially toxic effects of iron.
The Optical Q™ Ferritin reagent test is a FIA test that does not require processing with a centrifuge, allowing for a) quicker results and b) higher accuracy. It can detect and monitor your ferritin levels which can indicate iron deficiency anemia, hemochromatosis, liver disease, and adult still’s disease.
