In an effort to support the export of local manufacturers, the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) has been holding a business matching session every October in the name of tradeKorea by inviting purchasing managers from numerous global enterprises. In 2019 in particular, it managed to secure the presence of 32 companies from 17 countries including a top franchise business in Vietnam and the largest Korean grocery store in the US. A major buyer of office supplies from the Philippines, was one of them; it joined the event to secure a reliable partner that will supply office partitions, machinery related to paper cups, and general supplies.

The matching staff at tradeKorea has been discussing the issue of sourcing specialized paper for business cards, etc., and advised the company to take part in the event for in-depth, face-to-face consultation. The company showed how serious it was in finding a good Korean partner by sending 2 staff members, and the matching staff provided a list of Korean companies engaged in the fields that the buyer was interested in.

At the matching session held on October 29, 2019, buyer expressed great interest in the company specializing in paper cup equipment, a pastel supplier, and a manufacturer of office partitions. They decided to pay a visit to two partitions manufacturers in Incheon the very next day, and the matching staff contacted them to arrange the business meeting.

Following the matching event and the meeting, buyer compared quotations from potential partners, and the matching staff highlighted how competitive they were by proving their local popularity and presenting installation cases. At the end of November, the purchasing manager of buyer company flew in to visit RYUSSIEUN and decided to order a containerful of office partitions.

Buyer company got the products early January this year, and it was happy with the quality. In fact, the parties are discussing a follow-up order. buyer company also requested KITA for further discussion with another Korean company they met at the tradeKorea matching session, and the matching staff provided all the information needed.

Both buyer company and Korean companies appreciated the tradeKorea matching event -- which, for them, was a great opportunity to find potential partners -- and the support throughout the entire process from the invitation to the event to the actual order.
