An inquiry came in via tradeKorea from a Chinese buyer in March 2020, expressing interest in Korean kitchenware such as frying pan and soup pot. We filed a supplementation request to know more specifically what the buyer needs as well as get the company information of the buyer and found that the buyer was registered in KITA, with history of importing and selling Korean kitchenware including HappyCall. They were currently looking to secure a Korean partner to co-develop products under their own brand to import and sell them in China.
The matching operator of tradeKorea identified the buyer's need to meet a Korean manufacturer capable of manufacturing a nonstick frying pan with a new coating method and tried to fulfill such need. The operator contacted multiple manufacturers and checked whether they manufacture products locally in Korea and if they are available for an OEM deal, and then sent information of the 3 companies including INTERROAD to the buyer. After discussions with them, the matching operator decided to go with INTERROAD.
The operator provided the president of INTERROAD with some information of the buyer from GRS (buyer information system) including revenue and operational status so that the former can decide whether to work with them. The president kept communicating with the buyer proactively and ended up providing the first sample of the current products and the second sample of customized products for free.
The buyer was very happy with both samples, ultimately signing a contract with INTERROAD on June 24 after working out the terms including payment. INTERROAD was provided with 30% advanced payment by the buyer to work on a new set of products, and it is endeavoring to make sure that the first shipment will mark the start of long-lasting business relations.
The matching operator of tradeKorea is providing support by checking whether the two companies are cooperating without any issues so that they can establish a trustworthy, continuing relationship. The buyer made a new inquiry with the operator for cleaning supplies, to which the operator is responding actively. The operator introduced the VCS (Video Call Service) of KITA to the buyer as well as many online shows of tradeKorea under different themes so that they can have enduring relations, not just a one-time thing. tradeKorea will ensure that the trilateral communication of buyer, seller, and matching operator will lead to long-lasting business relations as well as many new contracts.
