A Success Story of Daejin Steel
Company “R”, a California-based steel wire distributor, asked a matching specialist through tradeKorea.com to help find a nail producer that meets its requirements.
Company “R” sent an inquiry about a list of items it is looking for in Korea, with detailed requirements such as “a nail of a certain weight with 15-degree diamond point.” (Diamond point is a type of the tip of a nail that enables easy hammering.)
The matching specialist searched for a match to Company “R”, and found DAEJIN STEEL. Founded in 1978, DAEJIN STEEL is Korea’s largest nail and steel wire producer located in the Southeastern city of Yangsan, South Gyeongsang Province, exporting all its production to many parts of the world, including the Americas and Europe.
Consultations with DAEJIN STEEL made a rapid progress, as the buyer wanted the main product of DAEJIN STEEL. Thanks to the production and export sales know-how accumulated for years, DAEJIN STEEL was able to supply high quality products that meet company “R”’s requirements at a competitive price.
DAEJIN STEEL has had deals with a buyer in the Americas, but company “R” was a completely new customer. Credibility is one of the most sensitive issues in any first trade deal, both for the buyer and for the seller. If they tried to resolve this issue themselves, it would have taken a lot of time and additional cost for an agency.
This time, however, the deal progressed quickly thanks to the credibility check by tradeKorea’s matching specialist. Both DAEJIN STEEL and company “R” counted on KITA, and sat at the consultation table with trust in each other.
