2024 tradeKorea Matching Day online meeting

The tradeKorea Operations Center arranged online and offline business meetings between overseas buyers on tradeKorea and Korean exporters at “tradeKorea Matching Day” as part of its efforts to support the overseas expansion of small and medium-sized Korean companies.

K is a Uzbekistani cosmetics distributor that was invited to the tradeKorea Matching Day. Online sales account for the majority of its business, and it is running two off-line stores in Uzbekistan. K handles mostly Korean cosmetics and distributes over forty brands. By participating in the Matching Day, K wanted to explore the latest beauty trends, work with new suppliers, and expand the product categories it deals with.

M is a cosmetics exporter and trading company that exports mainly skincare products and offers overseas
marketing services for various brands. It is currently exporting to Romania,
Norway, Dubai, and Thailand among other countries.

Established in 2021, M, a member of KITA and tradeKorea, is a trading company that exports mainly cosmetics products and offers overseas marketing services for various brands. M has a solid track record of exporting skincare brands, and the Uzbekistani buyer was looking for new brands to diversify its product portfolio, making them a good match. Since the two companies had worked together once before long ago, the matching manager strongly recommended M’s main brand to the buyer and suggested that they take this opportunity to resume their partnership.

They had a discussion in the form of a video call during which the buyer expressed an interest in other skincare products presented during the meeting, as well as in M’s products. Led by the matching manager’s support for continued communication, the two parties continued talks to resume their transaction and, finally, the buyer ended up placing an order worth USD 4,189. M thanked the matching manager for giving it this opportunity to resume doing business and work more closely with the buyer through the Matching Day. The Uzbekistani buyer also said that the online meeting proved to be of great help in finding new suppliers and that it wished to participate in further business meetings to be organized by KITA.
