Established in 1986, Orion Food Machine has developed and produced more than 100 products related to food machines such as sushi molding machines and seaweed rolling slicing machines, along with sushi conveyor systems.
Since February, 2016, tradeKorea has cooperated with the Mullae Small Manufacturer Support Center and helped fourteen Korean companies located in the region introduced by the center to find overseas buyers.
The matching staff of tradeKorea first registered the products of Orion Food Machine on the tradeKorea and B2B websites, and then introduced buyers from Qatar and France to the company, supporting e-mail communications and translation.
A buyer with which the company entered into a contract supplies sushi to large-scale marts in Germany, Austria, Turkey and other countries, and is now expanding its business by directly operating restaurants. It had imported and used Japanese machines with similar functions to quickly and efficiently respond to the needs of customers in its restaurants but it has become interested in Korean companies that produce lower cost sushi machines at half of the Japanese products.
Last November, the buyer showed its intention to visit Orion food machine to test the products. However, the company did not have an overseas sales force capable of speaking English. Thus, they requested help in arranging meetings and demonstrating the products from the matching staff of tradeKorea.
The staff, who has continuously translated and registered the products, communicated with the buyer and was able to fully explain their advantages and competitiveness at the meeting. The buyer decided to purchase the products on the spot and also requested a quote for triangular seaweed roll molding machines.
Currently, the buyer has installed and tested the products in its restaurants in Germany and are pleased with their performance, which is why Orion Food Machine is expecting additional orders.
The director of the Mullae Small Manufacturer Support Center expressed gratitude that successful transactions through the exporting support of tradeKorea will boost the exporting capability of companies in the region.
