3. Characteristics:
High quenching and hardenability, good comprehensive merchnical propertities.
It should be polishing after nitriding,carburization,nitrocarburizing or ionitriding,then through this way, surface toughness Ra goes down to 0.03 μm around, and also further improve surface polish and molds’ using life.
When uesd for moulds, it should be treated by quenching and tempering first, hardness HRC 28-35,then by cold processing, after that, it can be used directly.
4.Smelting Technique: EAF+LF+VD
5.Heat treatment
a. Anneal: 840-860℃ Hardness: ≤229HB
b. Quench temperature: 850-880℃, oil cooling, hardness 50-52HRC
c. Tempering temperature: 580-640℃,air cooling
d. Hardness: 28-36HRC
6. Appication
Often used for the large & medium –sized moulds,the precision plastic dies, and low smelting point alloy (Tin,Zinc and Lead ) casting dies and etc.
