Product Information

Descriptions

Uni-line is a complete range of single-function generator protection and control products which are customised to perfectly match the customers' specific needs.

Due to local distributor configuration we are able to effectuate extremely short delivery times - one of the indisputable advantages connected to the UNI-Line product range.

The individual units are approved by major classification societies such as DNV, GL, LR, ABS, BV and CNK

- there are more than 25 relays and controllers in the uni-line series

The figure below illustrates the units included in the uni-line series and how they are used in the application.

Voltage relays, type RMV-112D, -122D, -132D, -142D: (Ansi codes 27, 59)

  • 1-/3-phase under/overvoltage relays
  • 1-/3-phase double overvoltage relays
  • 1-/3-phase double undervoltage relays
  • single-/2-phase under/overvoltage relays

Voltage relays protect the generator, the transmission and loads against damage due to overvoltage and undervoltage.

Short circuit and overcurrent relays, type RMC-111D, -122D, -132D: (Ansi codes 50, 51)

  • 3-phase short circuit relays
  • 3-phase overcurrent and short circuit relays
  • 3-phase dual overcurrent relays

Current relays protect the generator and the transmission against damage caused by overcurrent or short circuit.

Differential current relays, type RMC-131D: (Ansi code 87)

3-phase differential current relays

Differential current relays protect the generator against short circuits and leakage currents in the windings of the generator. The relays measure the difference between the currents on each side of the generator.

Stator earth fault relays, type RMC-142D: (Ansi codes 50N, 51N)

Single-phase stator earth fault relays

The stator earth fault relay protects the operators of the genset against electric shock as result of earth faults in the stator of the generator. The relay also protects against loss of excitation as result of earth fault in the stator.

Overload relays, type RMP-111D, -112D: (Ansi code 32)

  • 3-phase overload relays
  • 3-phase over and reverse power relays

The overload relays protect the generator against damage caused by overload. The relays are also available as combined overload and reverse power relays.

Reverse power relays, type RMP-121D, -112D: (Ansi code 32)

  • 1-phase reverse power relays
  • 3-phase reverse and over power relays

The reverse power relays protect the generator against damage caused by reverse power. The relays measures directional RMS power. The relays are also available as combined reverse power and overload relays.

Excitation relays, type RMQ-111D, -121D: (Ansi code 32)

  • 1-phase loss of excitation relays
  • 1-phase overexcitation relay

The loss of excitation relays protect the generator against damage caused by loss of excitation or overexciatation.

Frequency relays, type RMF-112D: (Ansi code 81)

Over/underfrequency relays

The frequency relays protect the generator, the transformers and the loads against damage caused by overfrequency or underfrequency on the busbar.

Loss of mains relays, type LMR-111D, -122D: (Ansi code 78)

Vector shift relays
Combined vector shift and ROCOF (Rate Of Change Of Frequency) relays

The loss of mains relays are for protection of the generator against damage resulting from a non-synchronised reconnection to the grid after a temporary mains failure.

Protection relay package, type G59: (Ansi codes 27, 59, 78, 81)

3-phase over/under frequency and -voltage protection, combined vector shift and R.O.C.O.F protection

The "G59" relay package is combining over/under frequency and over/under voltage protection with loss of mains protection based on simultanious monitoring of vector shift and R.O.C.O.F. (Rate Of Change Of Frequency).

Load sharing units, type LSU-112DG, -113DG,- 114DG, -122DG: (Ansi code 90)

  • 1-phase active load sharing with relay output
  • 1-phase active load sharing with reverse and low power tripping relays
  • 1-phase active load sharing with start/stop relays
  • 1-phase reactive load sharing with relay output

The function of the load sharing units is to share the load between two or more generators running in parallel. Additional functions of the uni-line load sharing units are: unloading a generator prior to disconnection and the option of ensuring fixed loading of one or more generators. They are available with control and protection functions such as engine start/stop and reverse power protection. The uni-line load sharing units are self-contained with power and frequency controls, and are unique because of their variety of generator coupling options, e.g. master/slave, fixed frequency, etc.

Synchronisers, type FAS-113DG, -115DG, -125DG: (Ansi code 25)

  • Synchronisers with voltage check, relay output
  • Synchronisers with voltage match, relay output
  • Synchronisers with voltage match and static synchronisation, relay output on the FAS

The units synchronise a generator to the busbar prior to connection of the generator. Synchronisation is performed either direct by control of the engine speed governor, or indirect via an electronic potentiometer. The uni-line synchronisers monitor the voltage and are available with voltage control function - either direct via the AVR or via an electronic potentiometer.

Paralleling relay, type HAS-111DG: (Ansi code 25)

Synchronisers with phase angle setting and setting of maximum frequency and voltage difference, relay output on the HAS

Electronic potentiometer, type EPN-110DN: (Ansi code 18)

- also available with push-buttons for manual regulation

Electronic potentiometers are used as an interface between the generator control units and the engine speed governor or the generator AVR. Electronic potentiometers are also available with push-buttons for manual regulation and control of the genset.
