Product Information
PDLCD is the abbreviated term for a type of liquid crystal technology known as Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal Display. In its off-state (with no power applied), PDLCD film is opaque, with the molecules of liquid crystal droplets suspended in the polymer matrix to deflect light. The film may then be switched to become transparent in its on-state (with power applied), with the liquid crystal droplets aligning themselves to allow transmittance of light through the film.
PDLCD is a high tech product that can switch from transparent to opaque instantaneously under an electricity supply. It is transparent with the power is on and opaque when the power is off. It can be regulated and adjusted when the light transmittance passes through the film by electricity supply. In other words, the principle of PDLCD action is as follows : in the off-state(without electricity supply) PDLCD layer is opaque due to light scattering on the LC droplets with the random distribution of a director. In the on-state, when a sufficiently high electric field is applied across the layer, liquid crystal molecules are reoriented to the electric field in all droplets and the layer becomes transparent.
