However , in 2013 it was confirmed that the origin of Cacao is Peruvian . 5,200 years ago , Peruvians started cultivating Cacao along Cajamarca , Peru . Nowadays 60 % of Cacao varities is made in Peru . It is also the second largest producer of organic Cacao .
Cacao nibs are made from pure cacao beans , they are tested for micro-contaminants to ensure the cleanest and safest productsThe beans are peeled and gently crumbled to form small “nibs.”
