Secondary burn: Air goes inside through the hole on the outer layer, then goes inside the fire pit through holes on the inner layer of the fire pit. While moving in, it not only brings back in the smoke from inside that remains in between two layers but burns ash and carbon monoxide that were not completely burned at earlier stages. Secondary burn is known for minimum smoke and making the fire look much brighter.
