It also has high elasticity and strength, and is environmentally friendly. Thus, it is used in various areas including clothing, furniture, construction, and automotive. CBT Matching Team representative at tradeKorea received an inquiry from a Malaysian buyer through tradeKorea GBMS (Global Business Matching Service) in January 2018. As the buyer was looking for polyester staple fiber to be used for automobile interiors, they requested the introduction of a reliable Korean manufacturer. The tradeKorea representative searched for the buyer’s company through a foreign company credit inquiry website, and conducted a credit investigation of the buyer by, for example, exchanging continuous phone calls.

Based on the information of staple fiber for which the buyer has written in detail its desire to purchase on a GBMS application, the tradeKorea representative searched for a domestic manufacturer offering a competitive price, and soon discovered Hyunsung Co., Ltd., registered in the tradeKorea system. After contacting Hyunsung, the representative learned that the company not only handles the staple fiber specifications that the buyer wanted but also was concerned as it could not find any buyers. Relieved of the domestic manufacturer’s willingness to look for buyers, the tradeKorea representative made a strong recommendation of the company to the buyer.

As a result of active discussions with the buyer, Hyunsung Co., Ltd. sent free samples and documents related to the product. After thoroughly inspecting and testing the samples, the buyer was satisfied with the quality of the product and decided to proceed with a deal soon after.

After the initial order, the buyer pointed out the fact that the lengths of staple fiber strings supplied were not uniform. As a representative of the Korean company checked the manufacturing process once again, the blades of knives that cut strings have become dull, which causes unclean cuts. For continued transactions with the buyer, Hyunsung has made a generous amount of financial investments in the replacement of knife blades and made efforts to actively communicate with the buyer by explaining the reason for uneven lengths of the strings, providing photos of the replaced knife blades, etc.

Satisfied with the Korean company’s initiative and feedback, the buyer sent for a second order sheet a few days later and also significantly increased the contract amount. From the second order to the recently completed 8th order, the Korean company has been carrying out transactions well without any claims. The tradeKorea representative plans to continue to offer support for the two companies to consistently maintain good relations.
