In March of this year, Ofmom contacted tradeKorea, an international B2B marketplace operated by KITA, to enter the overseas market with their premium baby products. A tradeKorea matching manager introduced the Buyer Invitation Program and the B2B matchmaking service. In the export consultation process, the matching manager learned about the great quality of Ofmom products and how enthusiastic the Ofmom’s overseas sales manager was about making the business happen. This convinced Ofmom to become a recipient of tradeKorea’s premium matching service, and tradeKorea began to closely support Ofmom. We included Ofmom products not only on the tradeKorea website, but also on Alibaba, which drew inquiries from overseas buyers. Once an inquiry about baby products was received, we have matched buyers with Ofmom Korea above all else and connected them to over 20 overseas buyers between March and now.

During the process, the tradeKorea matching manager received a request from GWW International, a Singaporean company, to be matched with domestic baby wipes products. The matching manager confirmed the size of the business and possibility of actual purchase, and judged the buyer to be a genuine buyer. Then, the manager matched them with Ofmom, and introduced wet wipes along with their flagship products, such as hip seat baby carriers and strollers.

Afterward, the Ofmom export manager and the buyer continued their conversations. However, the high unit price of Ofmom’s premium products prevented them from making an actual purchase. Nonetheless, the tradeKorea matching manager helped the Ofmom’s overseas sales manager and the buyer to communicate continuously, and actively supported them by updating about the new products as soon as they were released. The matching manager also supported the two companies by negotiating sensitive contract-related content. While continuing the discussion, the Singaporean buyer expressed their specific intention to buy Ofmom strollers and hip seat baby carriers in July and made the first order of product samples.

Ofmom actively responded by sending a variety of flagship products free of charge, in addition to the paid samples requested by the buyer. The buyer was very satisfied with the high quality of the hip seat baby carrier featuring patented memory foam that is lighter and more comfortable that its competitors and the stroller equipped with an auto folding system that can reclined up to 170 degrees. Then, they requested an exclusive sales contract for strollers, hip seat carriers, and cribs in Singapore.

The exclusive sales contract between Ofmom and GWW International

The buyer carried out a final check on Ofmom’s company data through tradeKorea’s matching manager and signed a one-year exclusive sales contract with Ofmom worth USD 40,000. The matching manager will continue to provide support to the two companies, so they can continue business dealings, rather than enter a one-off deal.  An Ofmom representative expressed his gratitude to tradeKorea,  saying they were able to meet the buyer and sign an exclusive sales

 contract thanks to the support of tradeKorea. The tradeKorea matching manager offers closer support to Ofmom so that it can lead to additional deals with other buyers that he or she has been matched besides the Singaporean buyer.
