Product Information
Electrodeless Hi Bay Lighting and Plant Grow Light
125 watt, 150 watt, 165 watt
For exchange information and market survey only
Some of the main characteristics include:
1. Long lamp life of 60 000 hours (four times the normal service life of conventional fluorescent lamps)
2. High luminous efficacy of 80 lumens/watt
3. Instant flicker-free start; and
4. Excellent quality of light and high luminous flux.
How does it work
The high frequency electrodeless discharge lamp is made of three parts: 1. the lamb bulb, 2. the coupler 3. the high frequency power supply generator. When the power goes through the high frequency power supply generator, it creates a 2.65MHz high frequency positive power. It uses the principle that electromagnetism is coupled into the lamp bulb it responds to make the air in the bulb avalanche the electricity to form plasma. When the stimulated atoms of the plasma returns to its base state, the plasma radiates at the wavelength 254nm .Ultraviolet light is emitted which in turn excites the phosphors to create almost instantaneous light.
Best practice design and technology information
Mercury high discharge lamps
Mercury high discharge lamps are widely used in warehouses, factories and gymnasiums with high ceilings. They have a low initial cost but poor efficiency overall. In addition, they create significant disposal problems as a result of their use of the heavy metal mercury. In most situations, mercury lamps can be replaced by metal halide lamps with much improved efficiency.
Electrodeless lamps
In contrast to conventional fluorescent lamps, the electrode-less lamp generates light without electrodes in a closed 'ring' with no starting point and no end point. The energy is 'injected' via ferrite rings from outside using magnetic fields (induction principle). The lamp therefore has no points that can wear out, and last longer than conventional lamps.
Features
Long life and low degradation:
Because there is no filament or electrode, the life span will be more than 60,000 hours and Up to 100,000 hours, the average degradation rate is <5%.
High efficiency and energy saving:
High efficiency, it achieves ≥63 Lm/w,the power factor is more than 0.98, cosφ≥0.98, lamp power consumption ≤ 0.02 input ≈output, high frequency electrode-less discharge lamp 100W is equiv to a 600W incandescent light, under normal circumstances an 85W high frequency electrode-less discharge lamp ≈170W Metal Halide ≈250W, high pressure sodium ≈500W incandescent.
Environmental protection:
It uses encapsulated mercury, when the bulb breaks, it will not cause pollution, also it only contains 3mg mercury, while the other lights contain 14 mg mercury 99% recyclable, the whole high frequency electrode-less discharge lamp is 99.6% recyclable.
No flickering, low glare, good for eyes:
Because of high efficiency and no flickering, the light is very stable, bright, low glare.
High dependability:
The product is available in both AC and DC models. The AC voltage is in the scope from 110V to 264V, and the DC in 12 + 24 volt. The environmental temperature is between -30 to +50C.
Moment start, no warm up require:
The function of start and restart is excellent, and it will not cause light degradation:
High colour rendering index:
colour rendering index is ≥80, various colours can be chosen from 3500K-6500K
No radiation pollution:
The product passes the national EMC test, it does not create stray radiation pollution.
It matches the international EMI standard EN55015and GB17743-1999 national standard,
it also passes the Europe C.E testing
Easy to install:
It is suitable in any orientation/direction and has strong anti-vibration properties.
The energy saving table
Based on 10 hours per day, and $0.12 per KW, the high pressure mercury ballast itself consumes more than 15% of the power has not been considered.

*NB : Our electricity supply in QLD cost 15c / Kwh. 20%-25% increase in cost is forecast 2009.
Summary of results:
Mercury Vapor (MV):
Reveals very high energy use, complies with regulatory lux levels when new. however degradation is extremely rapid., In terms of compliance it means more frequent replacement & additional recurring costs. Effectively use of such globes is not only unsustainable, it is environmentally irresponsible !!
CFL:
Do provide savings & are environmentally responsible, though insufficient Lux Levels may prohibit use in regulated industrial/commercial application, they may otherwise be used where flexibility of lux level applies and/or in residential developments.
Electrodeless operating cost/savings:
Operating electrodeless lamps comapred to mercury vapour lamps may lead to >70% savings in GHG emission and similar value of dollars saved.
E150:
The manufacturer claims electrodeless lamps may degrade by upto10% over a 60,000hr - 100,000hr life, whilst still achieving regulatory or required lighting levels. Thus they are clearly superior and essentially the only responsible choice specifically so in most high-bay or industrial applications and/or elsewhere.

For minor road street lighting replacing MH 80w with electrodeless 3300 lumen, 50 watt lamp with electronic ballast would reduce current power consumption (80W plus ballast loss to ~50 watts), but increase light output, also for cost savings, ballast/bulb combo can be ready fitted to a variety of existing luminaires. The main benefit is the extremely long life 60,000 - 100,000hours approx 4 times longer than T5, also 5-10% maximum depreciation over life span, is minimal in comparison to mercury vapour with ( loss up to 40% after only 10,000 hours )
Reduces installation, running & maintenance costs, and the quantity of the mercury, (75% over existing lamps). The mercury is also safety encapsulated to prevent environment pollution if lamp is accidentally broken. A 50% reduction of electricity usage for street lighting in Australia could be one of the largest single greenhouse gas strategies attempted. Savings should also include the costs of replacing lamps with far less frequency ~ 10-15 years life span.
