Central Venous Catheter (CVC) can be used for monitoring venous pressure, blood sampling and administration of drug and fluids. It must be performed by trained practitioners, well versed in anatomical landmarks, safe technique and potential complications. The CVC consists of a catheter tube that is inserted into the vein for a short time, guidewire, syringe or Sungwon’s advancer, needle, catheter clamp, dilator, injection heparin cap and mess.
