Duplex 2205 is a two-phase, ferritic, austenitic 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, 5 to 6% nickel alloyed stainless steel. It is the most widely used duplex stainless steel grade and is characterized by high yield strength, double that of the standard austenitic stainless steel grades. It's a duplex stainless steel characterized by high resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC), pitting, crevice and general corrosion and very high mechanical strength.
Typically and widely used in piping heat exchangers, gas scrubbers, fans, chemical tanks, flowlines, marine and refinery applications, Chemical process vessels, Pulp mill digesters, bleach washers, chip pre-steaming vessels, Food processing equipment, Oil field piping and heat exchangers, Flue gas desulfurization equipment and other fields.
SAF 2205 is available in a wide range of product forms, such as tube, pipe, billets, blooms, plate and sheet.
