Product Information
Melamine foam is a foam-like material made by expanding melamine resin, thermosetting plastic.
It is widely used in general construction, industry, transportation, and living areas due to its excellent absorption, insulation, and durability.
Dongsung Chemical succeeded in developing its own technology of foaming melamine resin for the second time in the world in 2013.
VIXUM, created by Dongsung Chemical, is a melamine foam by foaming the thermosetting melamine resin. VIXUM has unique three dimensional hexagonal reticular structure and Open Cell foam.
VIXUM has six special characteristics.
1. Superior self-extinguishing : Nitrogen-containing, excellent oxygen barrier capability (UL94: V0)
2. High performance sound Absorption : Three-dimensional network structure & open cell structure (Sound absorption coefficient : 1.02)
3. Superior insulation : Performance with low thermal conductivity of 0.033 W / m.k
4. Superior lightweight : Density with excellent lightweight of about 9kg / ㎥
5. High thermal : Resistance used in various temperatures (-200 ℃ ~ 200 ℃)
6. Ease of processing : Various types of processing are available, and the product can be cut with a cutting knife at the construction site
VIXUM® DECO is a DIY soundproofing material that we launched in 2022.
The size of Vixum DECO is 600(w) x 600(L) x 50(T), however the weight is 185g per piece.
Therefore, it can be safely attached to any wall or ceiling because it is very lightweight.
Sound absorption coefficient is 1.02 which is the highest among other materials in the same category.
In terms of safety, it is safe from fire as it has the highest flame retardant rating of UL94 V0. It is also managed safely about formaldehyde and has a certification of Oeko Tex Class 1. In addition, it undergoes thorough quality management based on global standards such as REACH.
We are capable of 3D processing and UV printing on the surface, making it possible to express any design.
Custom sizes are also available.
